You need frying skill so that you don’t burn the pan cakes. Also flipping the pan cakes while frying is a little tricky.
The Magic Ingredients:
✓ 1/2 cup oats
✓ 2 ripe bananas
✓ 2 eggs
✓ 1 tsp fresh curd
✓ 1/2 tsp of cinnamon powder
✓ 1/2 tsp baking powder
✓ 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
✓ Pinch of salt
✓ Cooking oil
✓ Maple syrup (optional)
✓ Take all ingredients apart from walnuts and maple syrup and put them in a blender or mixer. Mix the ingredients well to make a smooth batter. Make sure the texture of oats is not present in the batter.
✓ The batter needs to be thick enough so that it spreads properly but doesn’t become too runny. If your batter becomes too thin keep it for 5 minutes until it thickens.
✓ Heat oil on a non-stick frying pan (Use any pan if non-stick pan is not available. But you would need more oil while using a regular pan)
✓ Place a big spoon/scoop of batter on oil and fry it on medium heat. Flip sides once or twice in between to fry it properly on both sides. Oats pan cake is ready once the color becomes golden brown.
✓ You can make more than one pan cake at a time by using bigger pan.
✓ Serve it hot with maple syrup and walnuts (you can use your choice of dry fruits or fresh fruits)
15 min. Quantities mentioned are good for 2 servings. Time for frying will increase if you make it for more people.
The dish has a lot of health benefits because it’s full of fiber, protein and vitamin. Other than that the fun in making the batter, enjoying the aroma while cooking and seeing it become fluffy while frying is simply a visual treat!
