Deciding to integrate oats in your diet and eating it at least 5-6 times a week is a very healthy idea. But the problem has always been with the taste. Even with yummy fruits it’s challenging to eat oats regularly. This got me thinking, what else can be done!? So, here is this recipe of Oats-Egg omelet, which does its magic by combining delectable taste and sumptuous nutrition.
You can serve it as a super healthy dish for breakfast. You can have this omelet for dinner or light lunch. Add your choice of salads or fruits on the side and you have a really heavy, tasty and healthy meal.
The Magic Ingredients:
✓ 2 tsp oats
✓ 2 eggs (you can use only egg white)
✓ 1 and 1/2 tsp butter
✓ Salt, pepper powder to taste
✓ Pinch of turmeric powder
✓ ½ tsp jeera powder
✓ 1 tsp finely chopped carrot
✓ 1 tsp finely chopped onions
✓ 1 tsp finely chopped tomato
✓ 1 tsp finely chopped capsicum
✓ 1 tsp slightly smashed green peas
✓ 1 or 2 chopped green chilies (add mode if you like it spicy)
✓ 1 tsp chopped coriander leaves
✓ Make fine oats flour using mixer.
✓ Mix all the veggies and coriander leaves with a pinch of salt and keep aside.
✓ Add oats flour, egg, salt, turmeric powder and jeera powder in a bowl. Beat them together to make the mix frothy.
✓ Put the butter on a pan and heat it on medium flame for ½ minute.
✓ Pour the egg-oats mix once pan is ready and keep it for a few seconds.
✓ Spread the mixed veggies and lightly press with a spatula. Keep in on medium flame for 3 minutes.
✓ Flip the mix once one side is done and cook for another 3 minutes. You can add a few drops of melted butter or oil if required.
✓ Take out the omelet and put it on a plate. You can cut it in 2 or 4 pieces.
✓ Sprinkle pepper power (sprinkle chaat masala also if you like the taste).
✓ I like to add olives to decorate the omelet. You may avoid as per your choice.
✓ Your yummy-healthy omelet is ready to eat.
