What’s it about?
Down the Road Cafe is a land of wooden wonders giving out an earthy and welcoming vibe. It is a dimly lit joint which has an ambiance perfectly suitable for intimacy as well as for a crazy gathering of friends.
The first thing that one would notice about the place is the tree growing out of the front porch of the cafe. It is, without a doubt, unique and in keeping with the theme of wooden decorations. The tables consist of tree stumps with glass tops. The ceiling of the cafe also features a wooden look – symmetrical blocks of wood protruding out at unequal lengths, giving out beams of light every now and then. The open air seating at the cafe, albeit too uncomfortable for a summer day, is sure to be the most sought after position in the winter season, and for the more daring, during the monsoons too. The service is remarkably friendly and curteous. Everyone is superbly accommodating and there will never be much reason to complain.
What to eat?
The variety of food that this place has to offer is really huge. They offer you flavors from across the globe and, from what I tasted, the food is fantastic. If you flip through the menu, you will come across dishes from Italy, Europe, China, Mexico, Singapore and what not. The specialty of the place includes the Enchiladas and the Cannelloni Florentine. If you are looking for something to drink, do try the Tropical Top. It is tangy with a kick of spice. And if coffee is your poison, then the Devil’s Own at Down The Road Cafe is highly recommended.
What to do?
This place is all about the food, the atmosphere and some good conversation. If you are into it, you could opt for some hookah. It is well-flavoured and up to the mark. Do what you always do with your company and have a fun time 😀
