Horns up Underground Authority fans \m/
Get yourself ready for a pulse-quickening 3 minute 40 second trip with ‘Gypsy’ – a new track which was released by the band as a teaser of their upcoming album Propaगेंडा (Releasing in couple of months) . This track was initially composed during the time of Skydive, even before Underground Authority was born (Read). Getting back to the song after all these years, the band experimented with ‘newer influences’ like Funk, Heavy-alternative and polyrhythmic rap. Discussing the influences on the composition, Adil Rashid says, ‘It will probably remind you of 80’s and 90’s Hard Rock where people used to coordinate musical parts according to the verse; only in this case rapping. So, it’s kind of a motley crew of different genres.”
The lyrics ponder over the different sides of an individual’s personality that come out as we try to adopt to our changing circumstances. Explaining the essence of his poetry, EPR says, ‘We cannot consider ourselves as one entity. We have loads of things in ourselves. It’s about how we sway from one character to another; as if we are on a stage and acting it out.“
The split personality trait that each vibrant individual possesses is not something that everyone can be comfortable with. And that can create a silent identity crisis which will eventually take a chunk from anyone’s self-confidence. As a message to the listener EPR concludes, “…look into the deepest corner of yourself to find your own differences and embrace it.”
So, are you ready to roll ‘like a Gypsy on the trail across’?
